PV System: Solar panels should be kept free from shade and face South for maximum power production.  Due to the fact that solar PV energy requires no moving parts, maintenance is minimal. Panels should be folded prior to transportation and serious weather conditions for protection against projectile debris.

Solar Rack: Because the solar rack is powder coated, no cosmetic maintenance is required.  When folding and unfolding the panels for transportation and/ or inclement weather, users should follow deployment guidelines that will be provided by SPACE upon system installation.  With two people, rack folding and deployment can be done under thirty minutes.

Battery System: Batteries should be checked for adequate power supply prior to deployment by using the charge controller/ inverter interface.  Instructions will be provided upon system installation.  Unlike traditional lead-acid batteries, sealed AGM batteries require no maintenance and are not sensitive to shock or vibration.

Container/ End-cap: Due to the strenuous building specifications for shipping container construction, no maintenance is required.  SPACE containers are painted with anticorrosive, industrial enamel that protects and enhances container performance (color to suit). Proper equipment ventilation will be provided in the system end-cap.

Transportation: SPACE is capable of traveling by methods that are similar to moving traditional shipping containers.  Once the solar rack is folded and the container doors are closed, SPACE can be four-point lifted by the container corner castings or moved with an industrial forklift through slots in the bottom of the container.  The solar rack design eliminates the need for a spreader bar in the four-point lift and maintains an 8 ft. width with panels folded.  SPACE units can travel on standard low-bed trailers that require no wide load or special transportation permits.
