SPACE (Solar Powered Adaptive Container for Everyone) was founded in 2008 when Harvest Moon Development Company hired ttweak, a strategic marketing and communications firm, to create an iconic project sales office that would exhibit a commitment to sustainability. ttweak, in turn, asked Metalab, an architecture and product design firm, to contribute their expertise to the project, and the result of this three-way collaboration was SPACE. 

After success with the inaugural grid-tied sales office, the team developed a mobile off-grid prototype aimed at applications that require secure, portable, robust, power generation.  Together, Harvest Moon Development Company, ttweak, and Metalab formed the joint venture, SPACE, to explore this mission and other opportunities to add value.

Since the company’s founding, ttweak has provided communication services to leaders in the renewable energy sector, including Horizon Wind Energy, Zilkha Biomass Energy, Wind Capital Group, Element Power, and Clean Line Energy Partners.   
• Metalab applies expertise in digital design and fabrication with architecture, from concept through construction. Its work scales from civic art and buildings to digitally fabricated components and product design, concentrating on the innovative use of materials and technologies. As researchers and facilitators working in the sprawling landscape of industry, production, and can-do attitude unique to Houston, Metalab is continually finding new and better ways to build things.
